And so, I am finally getting back into the swing o And so, I am finally getting back into the swing of things after a long hiatus over the Christmas and New Year period! This year, I felt called to take extra time off as there were some big transitions happening for my little family as we entered this new year. I resisted the urge and the internal pressure to get straight back into work when I normally would have. Taking some extra time for myself and my loved ones to actually have some space and breathing room has meant I’ve come out the other side into February feeling much more energised, focused, and ready to tackle whatever this year brings. I feel so excited to be getting back into all things wellbeing!

On a side note, this year I have more capacity a couple of days a week to take on new client work for content development. Someone reminded me of this the other day and I ju Someone reminded me of this the other day and I just haven't stopped thinking about it since, so I thought I'd put it out there in case anyone else needed to hear it today.

When I look back, it's often the gift of hindsight that unveils something I truly believe to the core- that everything happens for a reason, if you choose to look for that. 

Often, even the darkest times can have some kind of learning that helps you grow into a stronger and wiser version of yourself. And sometimes the outcomes we did not anticipate end up being the best way forward. After all, when one door closes, another opens.

Trust the process, it often leads us to silver linings we never could have dreamt up 💫

Barre is an exercise technique that works your entire body, combining elements of ballet, Pilates and yoga all into one.

When you practice barre regularly, you are actually rewiring your brain to focus on what feels good within your body, and it becomes second nature to seek this out in our everyday life rather than focus on or allow the negative to take over. This means that at a soul level, we are practising choosing joy above all else, and this breathes out into every other area of our life too.

When we talk about better choices for our health, When we talk about better choices for our health, we often think of what we put into our body in terms of nutrition, and how we move it through exercise.

But something that’s just as important to our overall health is what we wear on our bodies, in terms of the fabric of our clothing. Our skin is our biggest organ and what it comes into contact with externally gets easily absorbed and goes through to our blood stream.

I’ve spent the last few years swapping out our wardrobes, towels, and bedding to natural fabrics that are healthier for us. I’ve eliminated the majority of synthetics from all of our clothing and textiles.

It’s often been a frustrating process, as so much clothing contains a synthetic component, but I have through research and perseverance found options that are natural fibres and still don’t compromise on style or functionality. And, they are usually way better quality and last so much longer.

As COVID-19 restrictions are gradually being lifte As COVID-19 restrictions are gradually being lifted here in Australia, many feel relieved and excited to return to the things that they’ve been missing. But it is also completely understandable that many may also feel hesitant, nervous, or worried to return to ‘normal’, and face all of the uncertainty happening right now.

More than ever it’s important to try and be present in the moment as much as possible, and try not to worry or start over-analysing what might be happening tomorrow, next week, or next month. 

If you’re feeling a little anxious (and let’s face it, you’re bound to be anxious at some point in this experience), it’s great to have some practical ideas on hand to reduce your overwhelm.

Some ideas to consider are:

📱  Put down your phone
☀️ Sit outside in the sunshine
🚿  Have a hot shower 
📝  Colour in or journal

To get into the spirit of all things mental health, why not focus on lightening your mental load and having fun as we head into the weekend- take time out and do something FUN tonight!

Taking time out to do the things you enjoy with the people whose company you enjoy (even if that’s just your own) is so important to your emotional wellbeing, energy levels and ensuring you have a good balance of work and play.

Everyone deserves to experience a sense of fun and wonder in life. Some ideas might be;

⁃ Order takeaway and watch your favourite movie

⁃ Have a dance party with your kids in the lounge room

⁃ Try a new restaurant (in person or delivered)

⁃ Have a games night with friends (in person or virtually- charades is great for virtual meets)

⁃ Have a pamper night- put on a face mask, take a hot shower or bath, sip champagne and eat chocolate

⁃ Try a new recipe

⁃ If you can, grab a group of friends and go ice skating or bowling

Whatever you do, just do what makes you feel good and have fun 🤗

Something to think about this week- try to ensure that the objects you bring into your home are those that you truly resonate with and love, or that you truly require. Ensure that the people you allow in (physically or virtually) are there for the purest of intentions, and that they work with you to create a mutually respectful and nurturing environment.
